As the Band EO Mechanical Transport Manager in the Joint Aircraft Recovery and Transportation Squadron (JARTS) you will be responsible for the management of personnel, vehicles, equipment, infrastructure and associated funding allocated in support of MT, to accomplish the Unit’s mission and core outputs. You will also be responsible for ensuring JARTS facilities are maintained appropriately, raising corrective work requirements to appropriate organisations, and ensuring timely repairs when required. The Main Duties Are The effective management of Sqn MT personnel and ensuring that all Sqn personnel are trained to fulfil their duties. Ensuring the through life management of MT vehicles are safe to operate, maximising vehicle, trailer, and associated ground support equipment availability through effective fleet management processes, maintaining appropriate records in compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Manage MT related budgets within your financial delegation, providing auditable records of expenditure and preparing estimates for future requirements. Managing MT related IT systems as the JAMES administrator for JARTS in compliance with mandated processes. Promulgation and distribution of Regulations and policy updates, briefing personnel on pertinent changes and implementing updates to Sqn Orders as required. Monitor MT related contracts to ensure the delivery of expected performance requirements, addressing any shortfalls and briefing Sqn Management on issues that impact the delivery of JARTS outputs. Implementation of road safety strategies and carrying out investigations related to safety issues involving Sqn personnel and vehicles / equipment. Ensuring all MT related activities are managed within MOD policy, including but not limited to Health and Safety Regulations, and MOD Environmental and Quality Management policies. The management of transportation tasking, ensuring sufficient personnel are qualified to achieve tasks and monitor compliance with ADR and CDG Road requirements. You will be responsible for assuring Officer Commanding JARTS that all legislative and regulatory requirements are satisfied as a minimum. Furthermore, you will assure that maintenance carried out on JARTS vehicles is compliant with requirements.
