Could you be the full-time Maintenance Engineering Lead to be accountable for engineering leadership duties for the Crossrail, LoTrain, Greater Anglia projects and future Aventra projects?
Your future role
Take on a new challenge in Ilford and apply your Maintenance Engineering Lead expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to James Grainger (Maintenance Engineering Manager), and work alongside a dedicated and passionate engineering team in Alstom UK&I.
Day-to-day, you’ll develop and drive standardisation across the platform. The role will be both customer-facing and require delivery of work packages across the AVENTRA platform.
We’ll look to you for:
1. Engineering Functional delivery
• Directly accountable for engineering activity within an assigned functional area (e.g., product safety)
• Identify through fleet performance and relevant business systems engineering priorities and plans.
• Manage the delivery of associated work scope using engineering resources across the AVENTRA platform.
• Develop optimised processes.
2. Customer engagement
• Act as the engineering contact for one fleet customer.
• Deliver contractual requirements.
• Support project EAC / ROP activity.
3. Team Management
• Establish the required delivery team to support identified work.
• Support the Engineering Manager AVENTRA with development and management of engineers within the AVENTRA platform.
4. ECM
• Deliver ECM activity in support of AVENTRA engineering deliverables.
5. People Management
• Manage the engineers located on your assigned site to ensure personal development and pastoral care.
• Identify and reduce waste within the engineering department and use the resources available to make the required savings.
• Responsible for employee engagement and delivering action plans that make a more effective and transparent workplace.

* Degree in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience in relevant roles, management of maintenance and overhaul of equipment with safety-critical systems in rail or similar industry.
* Experience in project planning and execution.
* Experience of working in a 24/7 operational environment.
* Knowledge of the railway industry and its trends with specific reference to train maintenance.
* Rail vehicle engineering knowledge and understanding.
