Project Engineer
Our Client, a well-established and reputable Mechanical & Electrical building services company, has an excellent client and sub-contractor reputation. The office is located in Medway and offers a detailed service to recognized and repeat customers throughout London & the South East of England.
At this time, they are seeking to recruit a Project Engineer who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, a good team player, but equally able to work on their own initiative. The job role focuses on pre-mobilization, design coordination, and project delivery.
Package: £50k/£65k depending on experience and qualifications.
Job Role/Responsibilities
1. Lead design surveys and provide detailed design survey information to the design team.
2. Conduct thorough reviews of tenders, focusing on design, programme, and risks.
3. Lead design Q&A sessions alongside clients and the Project Delivery Team.
4. Submit and track RFIs to resolve design and project-related queries.
5. Create procurement documents and complete technical submittals.
6. Develop project programmes and highlight key risks.
7. Undertake labour and material measures.
8. Work closely with the Procurement Team to ensure all necessary materials, plant, and equipment are ordered before project mobilization.
9. Raise ITTs, review sub-contractor quotes, and collaborate with the Commercial Team to award contracts.
10. Assist design-related communication.
11. Support the Project Manager and Contracts Manager in maintaining high standards of quality assurance throughout projects.
12. Take ownership of all project-specific Contractor Design Portion (CDP) elements.
13. Draft detailed site instructions for management review, covering works required, location, programme and cost impacts, and client-led change events.
14. Ensure all submitted commissioning documents adhere to design and specification requirements.
15. Draft and issue comprehensive handover documents, including O&M manuals.
Skills Needed
1. HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical.
2. Proven time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
3. Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
4. Excellent knowledge of British Standards and both Mechanical and/or Electrical disciplines.
5. Self-starter with excellent communication skills at all levels (from site level to senior management).
6. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices in the relevant field of operation.
7. Ability to conduct thorough investigations and prepare detailed reports.
8. Experience in a similar position.
9. Full UK driver's license.
