SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, based on experience) ...
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with a variety of complex needs, including Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions, helping them thrive in a supportive and inclusive environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in assisting students with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with the class teacher to help plan and deliver personalised learning activities, promoting independence, positive behaviour, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons and learning activities.
2. Provide ongoing feedback on student progress and development.
3. Monitor and report on individual student achievements, ensuring school policies are followed.
4. Support behaviour management by adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
5. Encourage students' social, emotional, and personal development in line with the school's curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications
6. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
7. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport).
8. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
9. Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
10. Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
11. Creative, flexible, and able to tailor support to meet the unique needs of each student.
