Summary As a Ranger, you’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people. What it's like to work here This beautiful Tudor mansion is situated high above the River Tamar, with Dartmoor National Park and many unspoilt beaches nearby. The property is brimming with character, and is home to many colourful tapestries, armours and artefacts. The team pride themselves on providing superb customer service, and the family atmosphere amongst the 65-member team makes Cotehele a very special place to work. The Ranger team work with many volunteers, external partners and community groups to deliver excellent conservation work and create opportunities for the public to get engaged with our work and understand our cause for – ‘Nature, people, climate’. 12,000 trees, including more than 1,000 fruit and nut trees are being planted this current winter and we will continue to plant a further 11,800 next whilst also seeking further opportunities where we can. You will be at the heart of this activity, helping to maintain, celebrate and share the work completed and be a part of the exciting planting that will be ahead of us, which will be focused on the first phase of re-creating a 16th century deer park. You'll report to the Area Ranger and work closely with the Visitor Experience team at Cotehele. Due to its location, it’s likely you will need your own transport to get here.
