Job summary
Knutsford Medical Partnership are looking for a friendly, motivated medical secretary to join our team. Our Partnership looks after 23,500 patients across 5 sites, with 3 teams of secretarial support. You will be experienced in secretarial duties, healthcare secretary is preferable but not essential and willing to work in a fast paced environment. Joining our team of 6, plus secretarial support staff you will help facilitate referrals, patients care and tasks as directed by our clinical teams.

Your excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks will contribute to providing quality care for our patients. Main duties of the job
1. To provide an efficient audio, copy typing, and word processing service for GPs and health professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, memorandums, etc. with accuracy and quality.
2. To make appointments, bookings and admissions as required.
3. To liaise and arrange meetings (to include the booking of rooms) as required and to attend meetings and take minutes.
4. To establish and maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure.
5. To retrieve medical records and assist the completion of medical/insurance records.
6. File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
7. To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate shareholder communication, taking messages and dealing with queries.
8. To maintain the computer clinic system in an accurate and secure manner.
9. To provide cover for members of the secretarial team during periods of sickness and annual leave, and when required by the partnership.
10. In liaison with the clerk responsible, maintain adequate supplies of office stationery to ensure performance of secretarial duties.

Job responsibilities
To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative duties and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral service (ERS).
