We are seeking a warm and experienced Weekend House Manager/Cook to join a happy, high-profile family in their picturesque Wiltshire home, a spacious seven-bedroom residence, from Friday to Sunday. In this role, you will be integral to maintaining the home’s elegance and comfort, ensuring it is always ready to warmly welcome both guests and the family.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing the home for frequent visits.
2. Arranging fresh-cut flowers in collaboration with the gardening team.
3. Setting tables with a keen eye for detail.
4. Using the abundant kitchen garden to craft delightful dishes with fresh, seasonal produce.
5. Preparing a variety of dishes, including canapés and baked goods, to complement the family’s main courses.
6. Ensuring that all spaces are tidily organised and welcoming.
7. Anticipating and fulfilling the needs of both the family and their guests.
8. Caring for antiques and the occasional care of the family’s beloved dogs.
This 6-month fixed-term position offers the potential for extension for the right candidate and provides a supportive atmosphere where long-standing staff relationships are cherished.
Location of the job: Near Swindon, Wiltshire
Minimum experience Level for this job: Attitude and mindset are more important than specific experience, but prior experience in caring for antiques and valuable possessions is essential.
Hours of work: 30 hours per week
Days required: Friday to Sunday
Driving required: Yes, due to location of the position
Job Start Date: 1st October 2024
Job End Date: 31st March 2025, with possibility for extension
Pay: £20-25 gross per hour / £600-750 weekly
This is a fixed term job for 6 months.
