Job Title: Data Governance Analyst / Consultant Contract Type: Permanent Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow, Alderley Working style: Hybrid 50% office 50% from home Closing date: 5th January We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Data Governance Analyst to work within our Data Governance team, operating across the Group. This role offers the opportunity to join a dynamic and innovative team with a wide range of experience and backgrounds. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who are customer-focused and who have strong general knowledge of pension and insurance products and specialism or experience in Data Governance, or similar/related role, for example in Data Analysis, Risk, Compliance or Data Protection. The Data Governance Analyst plays a key role within the Data Governance team, directly helping the business to use the Data Governance Framework and toolkit to evidence compliance to the Data Governance Policy. They will collaborate with stakeholders to help them understand, interpret, and successfully implement data governance standards. The Data Governance Analyst will support the translation of business requirements into technical requirements and facilitate the adoption of data governance best practices through the data management toolkit. This will enable the Group to achieve its strategic objectives and deliver superior customer outcomes, through improved data quality, compliance with relevant regulations, and embedded data governance best practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Data Governance, having supported the implementation of a data governance framework within a large organisation. What You'll Do • Support the business areas with the implementation of Data Governance capabilities, driving compliance to the Group Data Governance policy. • Provide guidance and specialist knowledge of Data Governance processes and best practice. • Help Business Data Owners and Stewards understand the RLG data governance framework components. • Assist the business with implementing and monitoring controls to mitigate data risk. • Provide training and guidance with the RLG Data Governance toolkit. • Contribute to increasing data literacy across Royal London by providing Data Governance training, education and knowledge sharing initiatives. • Collate policy reporting metrics to measure maturity of data practices. • Manage the data governance artefacts and associated resources on the Data Hub. • Support those undertaking formal development through Data Governance learning paths. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and team members. • Ability to negotiate with business units / technology groups to drive results and advance the Data Governance agenda. • Results orientated, reliable, delivers commitments, upholds standards and principles. • Awareness of the regulatory environment and challenges within it, to help enable compliance and risk management through the effective use of data.
