Senior Production Planner
Shift Pattern: 4 on 3 off (Wed - Sat)
Working Hours: 9am - 7pm
Location: Glenfield and Barrow upon Sour
The Role
Gearys is a fast-growing business and as part of this growth we are seeking a Senior Production Planner to join our team. The role will support the SCP planner on shift fulfilling daily tasks, coaching, mentoring, and being the first point of escalation within the Planning department.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Produce and communicate accurate and reliable production plans.
2. Download orders from customers and update production plans, making necessary changes and communicating with third parties.
3. Monitor progress against production plans, ensuring we are on track and communicating changes to Shift Operations Managers.
4. Monitor plan adherence and complete weekly departmental KPIs.
5. Assist and support the Materials Planner responsible for purchasing all raw materials & packaging across both sites, ensuring the right amount of stock at the right time.
6. Ensure basket stocks are sufficient to run production and complete the plan to meet customer requirements.
7. Ensure baskets/pallets are collected in a cost-effective manner.
8. Notify hauliers of transport requirements for orders received, including additional information around stock availability to reduce driver waiting time and support our dispatch/warehouse functions.
9. Document and communicate shortages/supply issues to customers.
10. Ensure systems and supporting documents are updated with any modifications to original orders.
11. Establish robust processes for effective running during weekends and holidays, ensuring staff know what to do in exceptional circumstances.
12. Responsible for cover planning for team holidays, requiring flexibility to work different days and hours as needed.
13. Attend internal & external meetings relevant to the role and actively participate in discussions.
14. Ensure your team is trained on all tasks and maintain training records and training matrix.
15. Develop your team to effectively manage their performance.
16. Lead and coordinate HR tasks such as return to works, holiday approvals, etc.

What We're Looking For:
1. A Supply Chain background - Essential
2. A minimum of 3+ years' experience managing a small team - Essential
3. Experience in a Retail/E-Commerce/FMCG environment - Essential
4. Experience in Project Management/Continuous Improvement methodologies - Advantageous
5. Experience working on Sage 200 - Advantageous
6. Good Microsoft Excel skills - Advantageous
