The role
The role of a Youth Support Worker involves working within the classroom with a dedicated behavioural support team providing learning support to students in a SEMH (Social Emotional, Mental Health) and EBD (Emotional, Behavioural Difficulties) pupil referral unit (PRU) in the Chesterfield area. Some of the pupils may also have needs such as ADHD, ODD, dyslexia, autism, mild learning difficulties, anxiety and follow an EHCP. In this role, you will encourage, support, and engage with young people aged 11 – 16 years old (KS3/4) who are disengaged from education. You would do this in either small, larger groups or on a 1:1 basis. You will demonstrate this through a variety of sports-based P.E lessons or within classroom-based learning situations such as food technology or literacy and numeracy. This role is a full-time temporary to permanent position.
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £505 - £525 per week
Working Days: Monday – Friday
Requirements
* Previous experience of working with behaviours that challenge is highly desirable
* An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or the willingness to apply for one
* The ability to work on initiative and proactively
* Desirable - be Team Teach Trained – Level 2 or be willing to undertake a course through us free of charge
* A driving licence and a car is essential with business insurance.
* Available Monday to Friday
