About the role:
Joining as Management Accountant, reporting to the Senior Accountant with a dotted line to the Group FC, you will play a key role in managing the valuation and ageing of stock, delivering key commercial finance projects that will develop the Group, and providing financial information and advice to various budget holders in order to support effective management control and decision making, enabling the organisation to plan, monitor, report and use its financial resources in an effective and efficient manner.
Key duties include:
1. Taking a key role in managing the valuation and ageing of stock and making recommendations to the SMT and Board.
2. Delivering a range of commercial finance projects across the Group to support key strategic objectives.
3. Managing the development and production of the subsidiary management accounts.
4. Assisting with the production of the Group budgets and forecasts.
5. Conducting the monthly gross margin review and reconciliation.
6. Processing ledger transactions and balance sheet reconciliations.
7. Conducting the monthly group stock valuations and provisions.
8. Calculating and processing group GM provisions.
9. Monthly review of the groups' product costing records and tracing errors back to their source.
10. Assisting with the groups internal and external audits.
11. Maintenance and uploading of all stock costing information on to Navision for all Group Companies.
12. Monitoring and control of sample stocks across the Group.
13. Ensuring accounting information is clear and concise through accurate posting of journals.
About You:
You will ideally be a qualified accountant; however, strong QBE/part-qualified applicants will be welcomed to apply, as your experience is more imperative to this role.
You will have a strong stock background (particularly around accuracy and timeliness of stock ageing and valuation under standard costing) and ideally have some prior exposure to consolidations (however this is not essential).
Industry experience in retail/wholesale/manufacturing is advantageous; however, again, not essential.
