The Street Works Team within Calderdale’s Strategic Infrastructure Department have responsibility for discharging the Council’s duties under the All Streets Permit Scheme and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Reporting to the Street Works Officer and Network Co-ordination Manager, the post holder will take responsibility for ensuring that permit conditions for all road and street works on the Authority’s roads are inspected in accordance with conditions issued as part of the All Streets Permit Scheme, whilst also being involved in the inspection of other highways related issues such as scaffolding, skips and drop crossing applications.
It is essential that the applicant possesses a current and valid RASWA Supervisors card and has knowledge of the New Roads and Street Works Act, Traffic Management Act with road safety legislation being desirable as well. A good standard of literacy and numeracy along with a competency in basic IT packages is required for this role as the applicant will be provided with relevant IT hardware to undertake the role.
A full driving licence is essential.
