We are working with a tier 1 main contractor who is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their team on a full-time basis in the Highways / Flood Defence sector. As the Project Manager, you will cover high-value schemes across Cambridge, Northampton, and Bedford, which will involve navigation structures, flood defence schemes, and highways/road schemes.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and coordinate the activities of site staff, operatives, and subcontractors.
2. Prepare and implement method statements, hazard risk assessments, and project management plans.
3. Monitor project budgets, ensuring adherence to tender allowances and identifying potential variances.
4. Develop and track project work programs to ensure timely delivery.
5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to enhance reputation and foster trust.
6. Lead and manage design coordination processes to align with project objectives.
7. Evaluate and engage subcontractors based on project requirements.
8. Ensure contracts are executed efficiently, meeting both timelines and profitability goals.
9. Provide supervision, mentorship, and support to junior staff, promoting their professional growth.
What do we need from you?
1. Proven experience as a Project Manager, preferably with a main contractor.
2. Experience in flood defence, structures, and highways/road schemes is highly desirable.
3. Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to manage people effectively, adapt to change, and delegate responsibilities appropriately.
5. Relevant industry qualification (HND/HNC/BEng or equivalent).
6. Current SMSTS qualification and a valid CSCS card.
7. First Aid at Work qualification (desirable).
8. Eligibility to work in the UK.
Salary for this role will be dependent upon experience and discussed upon shortlisting.
