Due to rapid growth, an opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join our excellent production team in Bradford in the position of Sewing Machinist.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Sewing Machinist will operate as part of a dedicated production team, using skills and experience to operate sewing machinery and contribute to production with consistent high-quality output.
The duties of the post will require the successful candidate to undertake basic machine maintenance including cleaning machinery and changing thread and needles.
Additionally, the Sewing Machinist will occasionally assist in other areas of the production area, which may include packing and loading duties and assisting with the clean-up of the production and break areas.
Duties associated with the post are as follows:
Using industrial sewing equipment to produce product to a high standard.
Ensure consistent and accurate sewing with all products.
Follow patterns and techniques to produce product.
Work with the team to solve problems and suggest efficiencies.
Any other task for which the postholder is qualified and experienced to undertake.
Applicants should possess industrial sewing skills and experience and any experience in production of medical devices is preferable.
Ideally, applicants will possess a minimum of two years' experience using a variety of sewing equipment, have a working knowledge of various sewing techniques and be able to work with a variety of materials.
Our production team is a happy team therefore it is important the successful applicant has good verbal communication skills, be flexible in approach to work and possess experience of working in a busy team, collaborating with colleagues. Good timekeeping and attendance are essential as is attention to detail.
