Operations Team Leader - Electrical Technical Services (Flexibly located within Scotland)
Scotland, United Kingdom
Together we are Trusted to Serve Scotland.
We’re transforming how we work within E&M and Property Services to create a more proactive, efficient, and dynamic service – and this role is right at the heart of it.
It’s your chance to be part of something bigger – shaping the future of our services, leading from the front, and making a real difference every day.
Sound good? We’re looking for an Operational Team Leader – Electrical Technical Services to join the team.
What you'll be doing
1. You’ll lead our Electrical Technical Services team, managing a group of Technical Support Advisors to keep Scottish Water’s assets and field teams running smoothly across Scotland.
2. You’ll bridge the gap between technical standards and Capital projects, making sure best practices are followed every time.
3. You’ll set up simple, effective ways for teams to share ideas and feedback to refine how we work and deliver even better results.
4. When something goes wrong, you’ll get to the root of the problem and make sure it doesn’t happen again. You’ll carry out deep dives after incidents and investigate alternative resolutions for repeat failures to strengthen our asset resilience and reduce downtime.
5. You’ll set the electrical standards for E&M and Property Services and team up with the MEICA Academy to ensure those standards are implemented effectively.
6. You’ll lead our electrical strategy for maintaining legacy equipment while driving innovation and embracing new technology.
7. You’ll support technical investigations and work to create a strong, proactive safety culture that protects everyone across Scottish Water and our supply chain.
What you'll need
1. You’ll have solid theoretical and practical technical experience in electrical systems and maintenance, backed up with a HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
2. You’re a problem solver through and through, tackling complex challenges with creative thinking and clever solutions.
3. You’re a natural communicator and skilled influencer, able to engage with frontline teams and stakeholders effectively.
4. You’re comfortable using IT tools like Office 365 to maintain operations and possess a full driving licence for travel throughout Scotland.
