Job Details
This role involves a leadership & management role within our Residential Houses, providing support to children, young people and young adults.
The successful candidate will be expected to oversee all leadership and management tasks within a house, including, provision of supervision, oversight of rota, attending professional meetings, overseeing care plan, chairing team meetings, financial responsibilities, health & safety management, medication audits and attendance management oversight.
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure young people are supported by a team who provide a warm, nurturing and stimulating environment for young people in their care.
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure their team provide appropriate levels of supervision and emotional atonement to young people, making themselves available to young people at times of need.
The successful candidate will be expected to work with young people to support them to manage risk.
The successful candidate will be expected to see beyond presenting behaviours and to demonstrate compassion and empathy.
Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external agencies to meet the children's needs.
Uphold safeguarding procedures and ensure the well-being of all children.
To uphold and implement the principals of the Promise Scotland
Undertake quality assurance and meet regulatory responsibilities tasks which includes overseeing care plans, medication and budgets.
Other duties as directed by the senior leadership team which may include overseeing another house.
Promote the physical tasks (for example cleaning, cooking and participating in various activities that promote a homely environment).
The successful applicant will be expected to uphold professional standards as detailed by the SSSC and the Care Inspectorate.

The Person
* Significant experience of working with young people who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
* Significant experience of working in a residential childcare environment.
* In depth understanding of the concepts and principles of attachment promoting & trauma informed care.
* Significant experience of leading staff teams within a residential childcare environment.
* Educated to at least SCQF Level 8, which includes HND, SVQ Level 4 (Children & Young People) or Diploma/Degree in Social Work, Masters in Advanced Residential Childcare.
* Willingness to travel throughout Fife using public transport.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, the successful applicant will have three months to apply for registration.
