Firs Primary School are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to start a career in education while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a primary school setting. Working week Monday to Friday - Term time only 08:30am - 16:00 Wage £6.40 per hour (£7.55 per hour) Rises to National Minimum Wage after 12 months Qualification Teaching Assistant level 3 SEN pathway Duration: 16 months Training Provider: LMP Education Duties and Responsibilities Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities. Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils to meet their individual needs. Support children with their social, emotional, and academic development. Help prepare classroom resources and learning materials for interventions. Encourage behaviour for learning and promote a safe and inclusive learning environment. Support pupils with additional needs, following guidance from the SENCo and external professionals. Working in partnership with teachers and support team, SENCo, parents/carers, and external professionals to review children’s individual targets/EHCPs. Supervise children during break and lunchtimes. Meet children’s physical care needs, e.g. meal/snack times, toilet training, etc. Participate in training and development activities to complete the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. Skills and Attributes · A passion for working with children and supporting their development. · A positive, proactive, and patient attitude. · Strong communication and teamwork skills. · A willingness to learn and complete the apprenticeship training. Desired Qualifications GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade 4 (C) or above (desirable but not essential).
