Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Care Assistant to join our homecare team in Bridgend.
As a Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence and quality of life.
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
* Prepare and serve nutritious meals, ensuring dietary requirements are met
* Provide medication reminders and monitor clients' health conditions
* Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment
* Accompany clients to medical appointments and social activities as needed
* Offer emotional support and companionship to clients
* Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in clients' conditions
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care
* Respond promptly to emergencies and follow established protocols
* Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
Qualifications
* Relevant caregiving certifications preferred
* Previous experience in homecare or similar caregiving role not necessary but desired
* Strong personal care skills and basic medical knowledge
* Excellent time management and communication skills
* High level of empathy and emotional intelligence
* Physical stamina to assist clients with mobility and transfers
* Understanding of elderly care and common health conditions
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
* Patience, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
* Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and privacy
