Our client is a co-education state boarding school for pupils aged 11-18 based in the beautiful town of Bruton in Somerset. As a school, they are ambitious for their students’ academic achievements and provide an inclusive, friendly environment producing confident young citizens. They believe education is more than just grades; it is an awareness of the world, about independent thoughts and values.
They are looking to recruit an Assistant Houseparent. The ideal candidate is someone who shares their values and is able to join their team ASAP. The accommodation will be available to you year-round, and you are welcome to take on an additional role with the school as part of the office team or as a teaching assistant, subject to a separate contract and remuneration.

The role:
* Support students in a mixed house of 90 pupils.
* Work with students from Year 10 to Year 13.
* Conduct wake-ups when on duty and work evenings when required.
* Manage the running of the house and ensure that all areas run smoothly.
* Be the point of contact for parents regarding their children.
* Organise days out, boarding trips, and attend students' concerts and matches.
* Manage travel plans for boarders and ensure organisation.
* Ability (and desire) to undertake some History or Math teaching in addition to boarding duties would be a huge bonus. This would be subject to a separate contract and remuneration.

Accommodation:
Rent-free accommodation provided throughout the year; free meals are available in the school dining room for the post-holder and their immediate family during term time except exeats.
Salary:
£17,000 GPA (with the ability to top up your salary to £24,000 with a role within the school).
Hours:
3 afternoons per week (15:40pm until 22:30pm and one weekend day).
