Job summary The Midwifery Support Worker (MSW) will function as part of the Multi-disciplinary team within the ward department to provide a seamless service and high quality care to patients under the direct supervision of a Registered Midwife. The MSW is expected to undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of a qualified Midwife, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the ward. Main duties of the job As a Maternity Support Worker you will support midwives in the delivery of integrated maternity services to women and their families during pregnancy, labour and the postnatal period. As part of the role you will liaise with a number of community and hospital-based services to enhance the service offered to women and their families through the direct delivery of care, and as a point of contact for support or signposting.
