Role: Leisure Centre Assistant Manager
Location: The Bedford Sixth Form – Trinity Arts and Leisure
Salary/Benefits: Salary from £27,300 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 25 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 3 week rota, with a mix of earlies, mids and lates. Including weekend work. Earlies start at 5.30am and lates finish at 10.30pm.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a Leisure Centre Assistant Manager to join our Bedford College Services department at The Bedford College Group.
As an Assistant Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Overall Responsibilities - Safe operation of the Centre; Provide services to internal and external customers; Lead responsibility for 'wetside' or 'dryside' activities or training of Associates.
* Main Duties - Organise and supervise Associates; Train facility staff in health and safety, security, customer care, and operational skills; Ensure excellent service for Centre users; Staff facilities appropriately; Act as key holder; Conduct facility tours; Provide first aid cover; Handle customer comments and complaints; Conduct gym equipment inductions; Complete administrative and cash handling duties.
* Statutory Duties - Promote and safeguard welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; Promote equality and diversity; Follow health and safety requirements; Participate in training and development.
* Other Duties - Undertake additional duties assigned by Deputy General Manager or General Manager; Ensure record and document systems are updated; Formulate and implement proposals for Centre use.
* Associates' Roles - Swimming teaching; Lifeguarding; Coaching; Services provided on an employed or self-employed basis.
About you:
* Qualifications - NPLQ qualified or about to achieve; Level 2 qualification in relevant subject; GCSE English and mathematics (grades A-C) or willingness to achieve.
* Experience - High performance in previous roles; Working with diverse backgrounds; Working within a leisure centre; Customer-focused environment; Training and inducting staff; Implementing health and safety; Assisting with swim school scheme.
* Skills - Excellent IT skills (Word and Excel); Good influencing skills; Effective communication face to face, on the telephone, and in writing; High attention to detail; Positive approach to resolving issues; Creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
* Commitment - Promote and safeguard welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults; Promote equality and diversity; Continuous skills and knowledge update; Flexible approach to work and working times.
* Additional Requirements - Access to own transport; Ability to travel to events and various sites; Awareness of health and safety requirements; Ability to carry out business appropriately and professionally.
