Management Accountant
A truly exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join one of the UK’s leading operators in the fresh produce sector. Our client supplies the country’s largest retailers and processors and aims to be market leaders through linking outstanding consumer insight, sustainable procurement, technical innovation, and operational efficiency to provide their customers with good quality products at great value.

Main Responsibilities:
* Provide support to the Finance Director and Financial Controller on process improvement initiatives and system implementations.
* Review and present monthly management accounts to senior management before sharing with budget holders.
* Assist with month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
* Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger management, and bank reconciliations.
* Prepare internal policy documentation for statutory purposes (e.g., transfer pricing local files, tax policies).
* Support the budgeting and forecasting process, enhancing the consolidation of financial reports.
* Lead the monthly payroll process and manage related tasks, both monthly and annually.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislation, including Import VAT regulations and statutory payment requirements.
* Oversee financial audits, reconcile bank statements, and ensure accuracy of financial records throughout the year.
* Analyse and resolve ad hoc issues using a strong understanding of business operations and systems.
Main Requirements:
* Ideally, be degree qualified (or equivalent) in Accountancy; as well as hold or be working towards a professional qualification (AAT, ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
* Demonstrable experience of working with budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
* Robust communication and attention to detail across previous roles requiring significant autonomous working & efficient stakeholder engagement.
* Takes a commercial approach, keeping clients’ best interests at the heart of everything.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to balance workloads to manage the needs of various clients.
* Contributes to creating a positive, achieving, rewarding working environment.
