Duty & Assessment Social Worker
South Gloucestershire County Council is looking to expand their current team. The Duty & Assessment team is seeking a Social Worker to join a well-structured and organized team. This Duty & Assessment Social Worker role will be for an initial 3-6 months with the potential for extension subject to internal circumstances and your performance.
Duty & Assessment Social Worker Responsibilities Include:
1. Experience of undertaking Child and Family Assessments, S.47 inquiries, and intervention and planning for 'Children in Need'
2. Required to use professional knowledge to assess, monitor, and review social care needs of individuals, relatives, and carers and to arrange the provision of appropriate care services
3. Must have significant knowledge, experience, and specialist communication skills to gather information and make a full assessment of the risks, protection, and social care needs of individuals, carers, and families
4. Must be capable of devising individual care plans based on needs and risks and take appropriate action, in conjunction with other agencies, to protect vulnerable people
5. Required to manage an agreed caseload, offer support and guidance, and monitor, review, and reassess care packages/services to ensure continued effectiveness. Must be able to use paper and computerized case recording systems, produce reports, and capture and analyze information
6. Some knowledge of care benefits, fees, and allowances would be helpful
7. Understand philosophies, professional social work issues, and the legal framework underpinning care services
8. Must be computer literate and have basic numeracy skills. Must be able to fulfill transport requirements
9. Must possess good communication skills with the ability to negotiate with service users
Requirements / Experience Preferred:
1. Post qualifying experience of working as a Duty & Assessment Social Worker within the UK Social Care industry
2. HCPC Registration
3. 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
4. Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
5. Eligibility to work in the UK
