Our client, Scottish Power Renewables, is looking for a Consents Compliance Manager to join their team in Leiston on a hybrid basis. The position will require frequent travel to the project site locations, with the expectation to be present on site at least 4 days per week during main construction works.
This is a contract role (inside IR35) approved until 31st December 2025 initially (likely to be extended).

You will have a key role within the Offshore Development Team as the Onsite Onshore Consent Compliance Manager, delivering consent compliance for the onshore grid connection works during the pre-construction and construction phases of East Anglia Two and One North offshore windfarms in the UK. The role encompasses all aspects of consent compliance including:
1. Scoping strategies and management plans.
2. Defining and managing survey works and mitigation.
3. Obtaining further consents.
4. Managing package consent commitments.
5. Onsite and desk-based auditing project compliance with commitments.
6. All necessary statutory stakeholder engagement.
7. Project financial approvals and budgetary control.
Leading and managing a number of multi-disciplinary project teams will be a key feature of the role. Establishing, fostering, and maintaining team spirit and morale through periods of intense workload and activity will be critical.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management of process to discharge consents for OFTO works in line with agreed schedules and budgets.
2. Support the construction team and packages, maintaining an onsite presence to ensure construction activities are compliant with consent commitments.
3. Carry out onsite consent compliance audits and report findings in accordance with the consent compliance audit procedure.
4. Agreement, management, and forecasting of necessary budgets.
5. Production of work scopes and specifications for delivery of onshore consent compliance at all stages of a project and manage the completion of these on time and on budget.
6. Management of consultants and legal inputs as necessary.
7. Input to all commercial agreements and contracts to ensure project risks are mitigated.
Preferred Experience:
1. Consent Compliance on major grid connection projects.
2. Understanding of the UK Consenting processes, particularly the regulatory framework and consenting process.
3. Aware of construction methods and requirements.
4. Relevant experience in development and construction of offshore windfarms, onshore and offshore grid connection works, or other equivalent nationally significant infrastructure projects.
5. Ability to translate technical detail into commercial impact.
6. Strong planning and analysis skills with the ability to anticipate problems and implement mitigating solutions.
7. Excellent interpersonal, report writing, and presentation skills.
8. Excellent personal organisation and time management skills.
9. High degree of self-motivation with a flexible approach to work.
10. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
11. Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate as a minimum:
1. Degree or equivalent experience in Environmental Management, Planning, or Environmental Engineering.
2. Relevant professional qualification.
3. Extensive relevant experience in discharging pre-commencement conditions for the onshore elements of major infrastructure projects in the UK.
4. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
5. IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other IT-based project management software.
6. Flexibility to travel within the UK to site and to other SPR Offices.
