Job Title: Insurance Administrator Salary: £22,542 per annum Location: Blacks Vets, Dudley Job Type: Permanent, full-time Hours: 37.5 hours per week Role and responsibilities You will support our team by working to reduce practice debt through processing insurance claims and other related documents. We are looking for someone with strong administration skills that is confident talking through difficult situations with our clients in a caring, empathetic, and assertive manner. You will need to be flexible and able to prioritise tasks whilst working under pressure. A high attention to detail and GCSE Grade C in Maths and English (or equivalent) is required. Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Contacting clients for insurance claim forms and up to date policy documents either by telephone, text, or email. Prioritising and processing claims with strict time limits. Calculate claims and submit via specific claiming methods. Create detailed notes and process documents in line with GDPR. Process payments received from insurance companies by cheque or BACS and allocate to clients' account on PMS and document via claim spreadsheet. If a client shortfall or refund is due pass the file to our accounts administrator to raise an account letter. Contact insurance companies regarding outstanding claims. Process pre-authorisations when requested by Vets and notify clients/branch the outcome of the insurer’s decision. Respond to queries from clients, insurance companies and other team members daily. To support our culture of continuous improvement by understanding how the Claim Recovery Process is implemented and impacts across the practice and identifying realistic improvements to process. Provide insurance induction training to new staff. Carry out any additional duties as requested by Line Manager. Competencies: Strong written and spoken communication skills with clients and colleagues Excellent listening skills, with the ability to understand client's needs and proactively engage Ability to multi-task and manage own priorities and time in a calm and professional manner Office skills including scanning, photocopying, texting and computer literacy with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
