What you’ll be doing:
Day to day support to the Principal Engineering Manager – Control & Instrumentation
Provide leadership, support and governance oversight to the In-service Support Engineers responsible for the Control & Instrumentation, Platform Management System (PMS) and Internal Communications Systems (ICS)
Supporting the Engineering Team in maturing the delivery strategies in context of Whole Boat System Integration for In-service Platforms
Provide leadership to the Engineering Team in the review and acceptance of deliverable documentation
Provide leadership and support to the Engineering Team in Design Development and Declaration of compliance against contract requirements
Liaise with external customers as required to foster collaborative working relationships and ensure requirements are adequately articulated, understood and met
Work with BAE Systems’ supply chain and project management departments and collaborate with partners to ensure a fit for purpose solution to the requirements
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
Engineering Qualification, ideally BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent in a STEM subject
CEng (or be able to satisfy requirements for CEng)
Demonstrable experience of engineering lifecycle, ideally within final design phase and later phases experience
Competent in diagnosing faults in complex Electrical/Electronic systems
Desirable:
Experience with complex systems design, development, testing and commissioning
Marine system and setting to work and commissioning experience
Knowledge of developing Methods Statements and Risk Assessments
Development of engineering management and delivery plans

The Control & Instrumentation (C&I) team:
As an Engineering Manager, you will be providing leadership, support and governance oversight to the In-service Platform Control and Instrumentation systems, including Communication systems and Computer networks. You will provide day to day management of the In-service Support Engineering team and be responsible for developing and maintain the competency and skills of C&I personnel. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
