Job summary Fal Ward is clinical day case unit and is looking for an experienced Oncology nurse who is trained in chemotherapy and wanting to take on the challenge of assisting with the coordination of the day to day running of the unit. Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification. Main duties of the job Coordination of the day to day running of the day unit and /or Oncology O/P, Education and leadership for junior staff. Clinical roles include, venepuncture, cannulation, CVAD use, Blood transfusions, Chemotherapy &Immunotherapy and other supportive treatments. Supporting new patients with the correct information, including signposting and safety netting advice. Understanding bloods parameters and making decisions according to protocols and presentation of the patient Support the senior sister in the managerial duties of running a day case unit and Oncology O/P.
