About the role
Under direction of the Research Finance Officer, the post holder will be responsible for administering all financial transactions within the department and provide assistance with the finance administration of research grant funding.
They will assist in financial decision making through provision of reports and statistics as required and will act as a first point of contact for general financial enquiries.
The post holder will work closely with the Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) Administrator concerning arrangements for student scholarships, allocation of funds and monitoring student expenditure to ensure funds are spent in line with research council guidelines.
About you
Applicants should have a high level of numeracy and experience of working with financial processes and regulations. Candidates should have excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise in the face of competing demands with a proven ability to plan effectively and deliver work. They should have experience of communicating with a range of audiences and excellent customer service skills. Good knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office is essential.
