Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer | Witney | £40,000pa - £50,000pa plus c£4k bonus & bens:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer to join a well-established specialist manufacturer in the Witney area. With growth plans to scale their £100m turnover business to over £200m over the next 5 years, this role is a key component to ensure that their targets are met by managing, maintaining and improving their impressive Lab & Test equipment.
The Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer will be based in Witney, but will need to be OK with travel, local and to a key testing facility in Germany. This is a really exciting role, as the Laboratory & Test Equipment Engineer will get to work with destructive and non-destructive testing equipment on a daily basis. You will also be instrumental in the design and procurement of new equipment as the company grows.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and calibrate all test equipment in test laboratories and on production lines.
2. Co-ordinate specification, design and/or supply and installation of test equipment and fixtures as required by developing products and legislative changes.
3. Support the Research & Development teams in the development of new test equipment.
4. Evaluate problems with test equipment and make recommendations for possible corrective action.
5. Participate in the writing and/or revision of standard operating procedures (SOPs).
6. Assist in the writing and updating of inspection procedures, protocol and checklists.
7. Develop and document test procedures/protocols as required for new products.
Required Experience and Skills:
1. Good knowledge/experience of computer aided design packages, ideally SolidWorks.
2. Good knowledge/experience of mechanical and electrical fabrication techniques and processes.
3. Logical, methodical approach to work; attention to detail.
4. Experience of using inspection equipment.
5. Experience of dealing directly with suppliers and customers.
6. Good communication skills to motivate others to improve the quality of their work, as well as to explain findings clearly.
