Description | Salary £12.38-£13.47 Per hour | Permanent, Part Time, 35 hours per week | St Bedes High | Pay Award Pending International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Unit Catering Supervisor Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service. You will Supervise the catering team within St Bedes High School providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for secondary school children. Key responsibilities: To order food and other materials from specified suppliers required for the delivery of the specified service. To allocate tasks and supervise the catering team in the delivery of the service and achieve client requirements. Play an active role in producing LCC's menus and tariff items to the standards and costs set out in the service specification. Work with the Service Improvement Manager to achieve client requirements and maintain a quality service. To assist the Operations Manager in recruiting staff, managing levels of staffing and performance management To communicate with the client and all customers in a friendly and caring manner To control the level of stock, produce stock returns each month and complete relevant weekly and monthly returns to head / school office. To carry out planned promotions and additional catering activity as directed To maintain specified standards of kitchen and food hygiene and health and safety at work To collect and account for monies from customers and return to school or bank on behalf of the organisation. To attend meetings and training sessions as required What we are looking for: Ability to Lead and supervise a catering team. Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative. Excellent customer care skills Previous catering, food preparation and supervisory experience is essential to this role. Working Hours/Days: Monday to Friday - Term time only 35 hours per week, 7 each day Monday to Friday, although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake.
