Our client is a market leading supplier of a range of services into the Construction, Energy, Renewables or Utilities sectors. With offices throughout the UK, it has a turnover approaching £100m and around 1,000 employees. The firm is multi-disciplinary and provides advice and services to individuals, industry & commerce, and across the public and private sectors on multi £M/multi-year contracts. It has enjoyed high rates of growth over many years.
Due to continued market success and strategic growth plans, they are looking to expand and attract a new, self-driven, Commercial Contracts Director to effectively manage and improve service and profitability across their key contracts.
Role
1. Reporting directly to the Divisional Head and a core member of the management team, you will have full commercial responsibility for managing and developing all the major client Contracts.
2. Working with Senior Managers, and all internal resources, to help secure and then deliver new contracts.
3. You will work directly with all internal resources closely monitoring projects making sure all contracts are running to the agreed terms.
4. Leading from the front, managing, developing, and supporting a team of Contract Managers.
5. Ensuring best practice and continuous improvement as well as updating the current contract and project management processes.
Candidate
1. A Senior Commercial Manager/Director with demonstrable success in the Construction, Energy, Renewables or Utilities sectors.
2. You will have strong knowledge of contract law, ideally in the construction sector, with the ability to review contract documents to ensure a business is fully protected prior to contract award and throughout the contract lifetime.
3. The ability to fully monitor progress, prepare reports and contractual letters accordingly and negotiate contract extensions with costs is paramount.
4. A proven track record in ensuring all contract documentation is maintained to ensure the business is protected from any potential risks.
5. A competent negotiator able to develop and maintain key relationships with customers and major contractors at all levels.
6. The capability to manage a successful team directly or indirectly with excellent motivation, performance management, development, and leadership skills.
