Building Surveyor – Iconic London Estate
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Building Surveyor to join a leading property management team overseeing one of London’s most iconic business and lifestyle destinations. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, managing the maintenance and delivery of building fabric strategies for a development that spans multiple buildings and millions of square feet, housing thousands of occupiers.
Role Summary:
As the Building Surveyor, you will be responsible for overseeing building fabric maintenance and managing small works projects ranging from £10,000 to £500,000. You will work closely with property management teams, offering advice and implementing strategies to maintain building quality and safety. Your role will also include managing statutory compliance for façade inspections, fabric inspections, fire safety, and asbestos management, as well as supporting the events team as required.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose building/fabric defects and recommend remedial actions.
Write specifications and manage the tendering and delivery of small works projects.
Coordinate façade inspections, annual surveys, and any resulting work.
Manage fire stopping inspections and related maintenance.
Support Property Managers in managing building fabric budgets and preparing planned maintenance reports.
Assist with fabric-related issues raised in fire risk and general assessments.
Ensure the asbestos register is up to date and maintained.
Lead bi-monthly fabric meetings with the Property Managers.
Collaborate with the events team and ensure smooth service delivery across the estate. Key Skills and Knowledge:
Experience managing fabric maintenance works within a commercial environment.
Project management experience for small works projects (up to £500,000).
Strong understanding of CDM regulations and Building Safety Act.
Experience in managing statutory compliance (facade inspections, fire safety, asbestos).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work on your initiative and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Skills:
Membership of RICS or CIOB.
IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety qualifications.
Understanding of service charge processes.
Knowledge of property management principles and building services maintenance. Salary:
