Bookkeeper – Exciting Opportunity in a Dynamic E–Commerce Business
Location: Camden, London
Salary: Up to 35k (depending on experience)
Work Arrangement: 4 days in the office, Fridays working from home
We're currently recruiting for a Bookkeeper for a fast–growing, dynamic e–commerce company based in Camden, London. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong double–entry experience who thrives in a busy, pressurised environment. The role offers a great work–life balance with Monday to Thursday in the office, and Fridays working from home, so you'll need to be comfortable with this arrangement.
What You'll Be Doing:
1. Managing UK supplier payments and entering them into the company's accounting software, Access.
2. Handling interbank currency transfers and calculating product royalty payments.
3. Raising ad hoc invoices, entering exchange rates, and preparing stock valuation reports.
4. Organising supplier invoices and assisting with quarterly VAT returns.
5. Reconciling payment portals (PayPal, Braintree, etc.) and dealing with deferred/postponed VAT.
6. Processing staff expenses, analysing credit card statements, and entering data into nominal codes.
7. Preparing commission statements and managing direct debit entries.
8. Acting as the main point of contact for external credit controllers, handling enquiries regarding specific accounts.
What We're Looking For:
1. Ideally, AAT level qualified (or equivalent), with at least part–qualification.
2. Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounts role with a strong foundation in double–entry bookkeeping.
3. Familiarity with accounting software (Access experience is desirable).
4. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
5. A proactive, hands–on attitude, comfortable working in a busy and pressurised environment.
6. Strong communication skills, particularly in dealing with external credit controllers.
7. Comfortable with a 4–day office working arrangement.
