Event Medical Responder (Casual) - Medical and Healthcare Students
Join the XL Team this year as we seek Event Medical Staff of varying skill levels to support events across the North-East and the UK.
From first responders working alone at small low risk venues to large teams of multidisciplinary medical staff managing crowds in temporary medical centres, this role offers diverse experiences in event medical services.

As a member of the event medical team, your primary focus will be delivering pre hospital care to those who become ill or injured at large scale events.
Compliance and Onboarding
As a CQC registered organisation we require candidates to complete our full induction and onboarding processes. This will include:
* Full enhanced DBS check (adults and children) [you may need to pay for this if you cannot provide appropriate evidence]

Job Responsibilities
* Apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of their clinical scope of practice
* Must be capable of working alone providing solo first response and confident working with a wider team.
* Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently and promptly;
* Administering basic life support to patients at the scene, in a pre-hospital/pre-transport setting in accordance with their clinical scope of practice,
* Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritise medical procedures to be followed
* Completing patient care forms, insurance forms, evaluation forms, and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
* Cleaning, organising and restocking supplies in a ready condition after each use
* Respond to requests for emergency and non-emergency medical care at events and other duties related to assisting event staff with general tasks that support the event
* Handling radio communications professionally and efficiently with careful regard to the divulgence of information respecting confidentiality requests at all times
* Work cooperatively with assisting agencies, including the wider Event Staff, Volunteers, security teams, Ambulance Services, event participants and spectators.
* Conduct themselves in a courteous, helpful, dignified and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, their co-workers, supervisors and the public.

Qualifications
* Student Paramedic
* Student Nurse
* Medical Student
* Full UK manual driving licence - held for over 12 months
* NHS Care Certificate
Experience
* Customer Service or public facing role experience
* Willing to undertake any additional training for role (unpaid), provided by the XL Team
* Experience working in an acute, emergency or pre hospital setting

£11.80 to £27.50 an hour Depending on grade and experience.
