Illuminate are delighted to partner with the British Woodworking Federation to recruit a new Digital Content Officer. This organization is a leading representative body for the woodworking and joinery manufacturing industry in the UK, with a membership base of over 500, including manufacturers, distributors, installers, and suppliers. The team are committed to supporting its members, and raising its profile by implementing a strategic marketing plan that leverages multiple digital channels.
The Digital Content Officer will play a vital role in producing informative, engaging, and relevant content across all platforms to enhance member engagement and drive new opportunities. The role is dynamic, requiring creativity, excellent organization, and a collaborative approach.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation:
* Collaborate with content owners to produce engaging copy for the website, email campaigns, and social media channels.
* Translate technical documents into accessible, bite-sized content for varied audiences.
Digital Presence:
* Work closely with the Digital Marketing Officer to ensure consistent and impactful activity across digital platforms.
* Regularly audit existing content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with the organization’s objectives.
Strategic Marketing Support:
* Assist the Marketing and Communications Manager in planning and executing marketing campaigns.
* Support the development of marketing outputs for working groups and industry schemes.
Consistency & Brand Voice:
* Maintain a cohesive tone of voice and narrative across all marketing materials and channels.
* Identify opportunities to amplify the organization’s voice within the industry through creative use of digital platforms.
Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
* Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
* Proactive in creating, editing, and promoting written and digital content.
* Good understanding and practical experience with social media platforms.
* Proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
Desirable:
* Experience working within a not-for-profit organization, membership body or trade association.
This role is based at home but there is a requirement to attend one meeting a month in person with the entire team at the central London HQ.
