An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Manager to join our team and support the leadership of a first of its kind in a new 'plus plus service'; This is a highly bespoke service currently in development in the Mansfield area.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is passionate about Transforming Care and supporting people with complex needs. The role requires a dedicated individual to work in our brand new, bespoke service supporting five adults (18 and over) with a variety of needs – including, but not limited to, intellectual disabilities, mental health issues, complex needs, and/or challenging behaviours in addition to day-to-day support to ensure maximum choice and control in all aspects of their daily lives.
Across our established Supported Living Plus services in Nottinghamshire, we uphold a culture of transparency, positive risk taking, and trauma-informed support. You will support the Registered Manager to lead this service and embed our ethos and values throughout by leading a team of support workers and Team Leaders to deliver high-quality support and intervention.

The people we support have varied challenges from very limited support through to complex care, and you will work collaboratively with the registered manager to drive quality within the services to maximize opportunities for the people we support to have inclusive and great lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THE DEPUTY MANAGER:
* To monitor and support the delivery of person-centred services to all people using the service.
* To monitor and support the health and safety of people using the service and support staff.
* Promote an enabling environment, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with internal policies as well as regulatory standards and legislation.
* Provide specific management, support, advice, and motivation to staff teams to ensure that the people who use our services are supported to be as independent as possible and achieve their goals.
* To ensure that the actions of all staff directly supporting people using the service support their care, protection, and well-being, and comply with external regulations and standards.
* Ensure that principles of positive risk taking and active support based on knowledge of the person and staff are embedded into the service.
* Ability to supervise a team and take responsibility for the implementation of Positive Behavioural Support Plans (PBSP), with the support of a dedicated PBS practitioner.
* Lead a compassionate and respectful culture of care and support for both staff and people supported.
* Work collaboratively with staff and people supported, empowering them so their voices and ideas are heard.
* To ensure effective financial administration of the service delivered, through the effective deployment of staff and budgets.
* To use and update IT processes to include the completion of accurate rota and timesheet information using Lifeways Cold Harbour system as per Lifeways procedures.
* It is essential that the successful candidate works in partnership with the multi-disciplinary teams.
* To guarantee a positive approach to partnership working across the service.
* To develop the knowledge and skills of staff teams through delivering service-specific training as and when required.
* To develop own knowledge and practice relative to continuous service improvement.
* Ensure that all services delivered are compliant to contract.
* Audit services regularly and report accordingly.
* Continuously improve service performance across services for which you are responsible.
* Recognise and encourage innovation across services for which you are responsible.
* Ensure that purchaser contracts and agreements are in place for all people using the service.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THE DEPUTY MANAGER:
* Supervise, mentor and act as a positive role model to Team Leaders to ensure effective and efficient person-centred service delivery to all people who use the service.
* Conduct annual performance appraisals for all team members.
* Take a lead role in developing and delivering an appropriate induction programme for new staff.
* Motivate the staff team to drive and improve Deputy delivery.
* Participate in rotational on-call system as assigned.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
* Professional Qualification NVQ 3, willingness to work towards further qualifications in PBS and Care Management.
* 4 years’ experience within the learning disability or mental health sector in complex settings, ideally experience of leading a team.
* Experience of working with people with complex needs who show behaviours of concern and people with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health conditions.
* Ability to show outstanding leadership and management skills and embed a values-based culture in line with our vision for this service.
* You will possess good time management skills and be IT literate.
* You will be committed to reporting on Service User outcomes and organisational KPI reporting.
* Resilience, transparency, and a positive, proactive approach is essential.
