Role Overview
We are seeking an innovative and experienced Head of Data and Analytics to lead the data strategy, governance, and analytics capabilities within the HR function of a leading FTSE 100 aerospace manufacturing organization. This role is pivotal in enabling HR leaders and teams to leverage data as a strategic asset, driving data integrity, setting up data governance frameworks, and delivering robust data management operations. The Head of Data and Analytics will focus on building self-service reporting capabilities, fostering data democratization, and leveraging advanced tools such as Microsoft Fabric and SAP Analytics Cloud to provide actionable people analytics insights that inform decision-making and enhance business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Governance and Integrity
1. Develop and implement a data governance framework that ensures data accuracy, compliance, and consistency across global HR operations.
2. Define standards and policies for data stewardship, ensuring accountability for data ownership within HR teams.
3. Establish data quality benchmarks and processes to maintain data integrity in alignment with global and local regulatory requirements.
2. Data Management Operations
1. Oversee the end-to-end data lifecycle management, including collection, validation, integration, and storage.
2. Build and maintain scalable processes for data integration across HR systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
3. Work collaboratively with IT to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions, leveraging Microsoft Fabric for unified data management.
3. Self-Service Reporting and Data Democratization
1. Enable self-service reporting capabilities by developing intuitive dashboards and reporting tools accessible across HR teams and leadership.
2. Foster data democratization, empowering HR teams to access and utilize data independently for decision-making.
3. Leverage tools like SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric to deliver seamless and accessible reporting solutions.
4. People Analytics and Insights
1. Develop and implement people analytics capabilities to generate actionable insights for HR leadership, focusing on workforce planning, talent management, and employee engagement.
2. Build predictive models to identify trends and anticipate workforce challenges, supporting strategic decision-making.
3. Deliver comprehensive analytics dashboards and reports using SAP Analytics Cloud and Power BI for data visualization and storytelling.
5. Understanding Leadership Needs
1. Act as a trusted partner to HR leadership, proactively identifying their data and reporting needs and delivering tailored solutions.
2. Regularly engage with stakeholders to align analytics initiatives with evolving business and HR priorities.
3. Provide strategic recommendations based on insights derived from advanced analytics and trend analysis.
6. Technology Enablement
1. Leverage Microsoft Fabric, SAP Analytics Cloud, and other advanced platforms to integrate, analyze, and visualize HR data.
2. Partner with the HR Systems Business Partner and Transformation Head to configure and optimize data tools for scalability and efficiency.
3. Stay abreast of emerging technologies in data analytics, cloud computing, and self-service platforms, introducing innovations to enhance HR capabilities.
7. Team Leadership and Collaboration
1. Lead a high-performing team of data analysts and specialists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
2. Work closely with HR Process Owners, IT teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to align data strategies with organizational objectives.
3. Promote a culture of data literacy across HR, ensuring teams are equipped to understand and utilize data effectively.

Required Skills and Experience
1. Data Governance and Management
1. Extensive experience in establishing and managing data governance frameworks within large, complex organizations.
2. Expertise in data lifecycle management and data quality processes, with a focus on global and local compliance.
2. Analytics Expertise
1. Strong experience with self-service reporting platforms, data democratization, and creating accessible reporting tools.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Fabric, SAP Analytics Cloud, Power BI, and related platforms for analytics and visualization.
3. Advanced capability in predictive analytics, trend analysis, and creating actionable insights from complex datasets.
3. Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
1. Proven ability to engage with senior HR leadership, understand their data needs, and deliver impactful solutions.
2. Excellent communication and storytelling skills to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
4. Technical Proficiency
1. Hands-on experience with HR systems such as SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Analytics Cloud, etc.
2. Experience of building data platforms based on Microsoft technology stack e.g. MS Fabric.
3. Understanding of data tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, or similar for advanced analysis would be advantageous.
5. Leadership and Collaboration
1. Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and manage a high-performing team of data professionals.
2. Experience working in a global, matrixed organization, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing sector.
