Location Sports Training Village, University of Bath Contract type (Part time) Closing date 27 August 2024 Job Description Team Bath AS is a performance swimming club dedicated to helping local swimmers reach their full potential in competitive swimming, both at junior and senior levels. Our exceptional coaches, driven by their extensive experience and love for the sport, guide swimmers in developing the essential skills and technical expertise required for success at local, County, Regional, National and International competitions. We provide unwavering support, both physically and emotionally, to all swimmers including those with disabilities.
Team Bath AS is looking to appoint a motivated Strength and Conditioning Coach to work in collaboration with the Head of Swimming and the existing coaching team. The role of the S&C coach is to support the Head of Swimming through planning and implementing a strength and conditioning training programme that compliments the swim programme.
Our club’s aim is to provide high quality coaching to all our children and young adults.

DAYS AND TIMES
Tuesday: 1-hour training session from 6.30am to 7.30am
Saturday: 1.5-hours and 1-hour training sessions between 8.45am to 12.15pm
Hours are subject to the swimming competitions calendar. Planning and preparation included in the remuneration.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
•Certificate in Coaching Strength and Conditioning of Sport, relevant fitness qualification e.g. Level 2/Level 3 Personal trainer or gym instructor, UKSCA Accreditation or similar
•BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Sciences/S&C/Sports Injury Rehabilitation or vocational equivalent with industry experience (desirable)
•MSc Exercise/ S&C/Sports Injury Rehabilitation or related area (desirable)
•Experience of planning and implementing a Strength and Conditioning programme.
•Experience of leading Strength and Conditioning sessions or a variety of abilities and ages
•Ability to lead a safe and effective training session.
•Ability to communicate and give feedback about athlete’s progress.
•Will be required to work with persons under 18 years of age (enhanced DBS check with barred check required)

JOB DESCRIPTION- MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
•To deliver Strength and Conditioning sessions in line with the annual plan and discussion with the Head of Swimming.
•Session plans need to be written and delivered with consideration of the age, size and ability of the swimmers.
•Sessions may need to be designed around an individual’s performance and their competition preference.
•Demonstrate a committed and professional approach to coaching and supporting all swimmers to reach their full potential.
•To communicate well and in a positive manner to all swimmers.
•To provide feedback on the swimmer’s progress to the Head of Swimming.
•To be an ambassador for the club.
•Follow Health & Safety Procedures, Wavepower (Swim England Safeguarding and Policy document), the Code of Conduct for Coaches and Team Bath AS club policies.
•Be aware and understand Strength and Conditioning training risk assessments and provide timely and comprehensive accident/incident reporting.
•To understand swimmers needs when injured or returning from injury and plan accordingly.
•To provide a pre-pool and post-pool programme.
You will be expected to hold a current Safeguarding and Protecting Children certificate, a Swim England Safeguarding certificate or Swim England Safeguarding in Aquatics certificate. Team Bath AS can provide information and funding for this 3-hour course if you are recruited.
