Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in our care home. Your responsibilities will include supporting residents with daily activities, implementing care plans, and supervising junior staff members to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
Duties
1. Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
3. Drive residents to appointments or activities as required, ensuring their safety and comfort.
4. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to provide updates on care and wellbeing.
5. Supervise and mentor junior staff, fostering a supportive environment that encourages professional development.
6. Maintain accurate records of resident care and any changes in health status.
7. Participate in team meetings to discuss resident needs and improve service delivery.
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home.
Qualifications
1. Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is essential.
2. Strong understanding of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
3. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents and their families.
4. Proven leadership abilities with experience in supervising staff members.
5. IT proficiency for maintaining records and documentation efficiently.
6. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting residents when necessary.
7. A caring attitude with a genuine passion for improving the lives of seniors.
