A client within the public sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Building Control Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, contract position with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to provide an effective Building Control service through the regulation and enforcement of the Building Regulations 2010, the Building Act 1984 and associated legislation to ensure the health, safety and convenience of people in and about buildings.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out the full range of Building Control surveying activities including site inspections and plan appraisals, investigating dangerous structures, responding to customer enquiries, coordinating statutory consultations, demolitions, liaising with experts, internal and external stakeholders.
2. Proactively manage contravening building works and enforce the requirements of the building regulations through effective enforcement in line with service policies and procedures and the Operational Standards Rules published by the Building Safety Regulator.
3. Investigate alleged breaches of building regulations, gather evidence and attend court as required.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require the necessary technical expertise and relevant class registration to complete surveys on behalf of the council.
It will be essential to have experience in the following:
1. Processes and procedures of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System accreditation process.
2. Ensuring legislative deadlines for issuing notices and certificates are met relevant to the work undertaken by the postholder.
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £60 p/h Umbrella Ltd. (approx. £48 p/h PAYE).
