Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Transport Officer

Role Overview:
As a Senior Transport Officer, you will lead the planning and provision of transport in Derbyshire for Adult Social Care and Health (ASCH) services. You will ensure compliance with financial, procurement, and legal regulations while overseeing contract performance and resolving operational issues.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the application of the Council’s Transport Policy for vulnerable adults.
2. Liaise with internal and external colleagues to ensure effective service delivery.
3. Manage in-house ASCH service drivers and vehicles.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with external contractors, ensuring service delivery and compliance.
5. Prepare tender documents and oversee the electronic tendering process.
6. Respond to correspondence from MPs, Elected Members, and the public.
7. Support staff development and manage enquiries to ensure all queries are resolved.
What We’re Looking For:
Experience: Understanding of taxi and minibus operations, planning and scheduling within complex services, and managing and motivating staff.
Skills and Knowledge: Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a comprehensive understanding of ICT systems.
Personal Attributes: Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, manage workloads, and build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Educated to degree level or equivalent, or significant industry experience.
