Job Title: Consultant Hepatologist
Location: Truro, Cornwall, UK
Reports to: Care Group Manager/Clinical Director, Medical Director

Job Description: Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Consultant Hepatologist to join our progressive and innovative Gastroenterology & Hepatology department. Situated in the beautiful county of Cornwall, our large teaching hospital trust offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly developed and award-winning department.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the highest clinical standards in the management of Hepatology & Gastroenterology patients.
2. Develop subspecialty interests and skills with departmental support.
3. Share responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Gastroenterology & Hepatology department.
4. Teach and train medical students and post-graduate doctors.
5. Participate actively in continuing medical education (CME), clinical governance, and audit.
6. Attend relevant meetings and fulfill duties of the weekly timetable.
Qualifications:
1. GMC Registration with a license to Practice.
2. GMC Specialist Register or within six months of obtaining CCT (or equivalent) at the time of interview.
3. MRCP (Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians).
Desirable:
1. Higher Degree (e.g., MD or PhD).
2. Train the trainers course.
3. Management course.
Experience:
1. Teaching medical students, peers, and MDT.
2. Experience in Gastroenterology.
3. Experience in Clinical Audit and Clinical Governance.
4. Delivery in therapeutic and diagnostic colonoscopy.
Skills:
1. Strong clinical and personal credibility.
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Excellent IT skills.
4. Conceptual and analytical skills.
5. Fluent English (I.E.L.R.S level 7.5).
Additional Requirements:
1. Satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check.
2. Valid visa to work in the UK.
3. Occupational Health clearance.
4. Three satisfactory references.
5. Access to own transport and ability to travel within and outside the county.
6. Must live no more than 30 minutes travel from the hospital if on-call rota is category A.
