You will be responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax and collection of Rent. This post is currently partially customer service based and you will be required to have experience in customer service/financial background. You will be required to resolve customer enquiries, both routine and complex in accordance with the legislation, regulations and guidelines. Our workstyle offers a blended home/office approach which will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time. Initially you will be based in the office whilst training is being carried out. The Person You should have experience of providing excellent customer service and have good communication skills which includes written correspondence, with the ability to respond sensitively to people with a variety of needs. You should have experience in negotiating and agreeing payment plans. You should be able to use your own initiative, work independently and as part of a team. Experience in prioritising your own workload and managing your time whilst having the ability to work under pressure is essential. You must have the ability to use multiple IT systems and have excellent administrative skills. You should also have experience of responding quickly to changing demands and have problem-solving skills. You must have the ability to provide a regular and effective service and display a flexible attitude to work and change with a positive, pro-active approach. You should have SCQF level 5, which includes National 5 or SVQ level 2 or Standard Grades as credit level. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
