Electrogear is looking for people who enjoy a challenge building electrical and electronic assemblies. We need assembly technicians to help us meet a growing workload and to take on more work that involves assembly of cable looms, wire harnesses, soldering, repairs, and complex build of PCBs.
The position involves the assembly of military connectors, coax, multicore cable, shielded and twisted pair to name a few, along with soldering and crimping of connectors. You will work from documentation that includes assembly drawings and procedures.
We are looking for applicants with inspection skills and one with stores/goods in and kitting skills.
There will also be occasions where you will be required to work on customer sites. This is a varied and interesting opportunity for the right persons.
Responsibilities:
1. Assembly of electronic cable assemblies and integration of cable looms into top level assemblies.
2. Be able to read and interpret electronic/mechanical documentation.
3. Use of hand tools required for electronic assembly, soldering iron, microscope, measuring tools, wire cutting tools etc.
4. Be able to take an electronics assembly kit, inventory, review documentation and build as per the drawing while filling out the necessary documentation for quality inspection.
5. Ability to “red line” drawings as you build.
Skills:
1. Ability to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings.
2. Experience with hand tools such as callipers, multi-meters, wire cutting, wire stripping tools, label creating tools.
3. Experienced at soldering and crimping, IPC-A-610 is a plus.
4. Be a team player with initiative. Have effective communication skills.
5. Must have the ability to complete handwritten job cards.
6. Individual should be security clearable however a clearance is not necessarily required for this position.
7. You should have standard certifications for electronic cable assembly or have had training equivalent to.
8. Be able to lift 16 to 25kgs, be able to stand or sit for periods of time without issue.
Attendance hours are to be agreed with each individual applicant, Hours between 35 to 40 per week.
