A world-renowned engineering business that supplies OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers across an array of industries, is seeking a Senior CNC Programmer to join their well-established team. A business which sits at the pinnacle of machining excellence, has gone through a continued period of growth to ensure the business remains successful in producing high value, complex components across safety critical industries.
The function of the role is to ensure the CNC machine shop runs efficiently, maximizing production levels across all machinery, whilst also managing a team of multi-skilled CNC machinists on a day-to-day basis.
Daytime hours with an early finish on Fridays too.
Responsibilities For The Senior CNC Programmer Include:
* Overseeing a busy CNC machine shop, running a number of multi-axis machining centres to produce precision components.
* Review of works orders to allocate based on machine and manpower availability.
* Tool selection, checking material availability, and jig/fixture requirements.
* Inspection of all parts for tolerance, ensuring conformity with customer drawings.
* Ensuring the department achieves all set KPIs for efficiency and cost control.
* Ensuring all department health & safety regulations are adhered to, by carrying out risk assessments, safety equipment, and PPE checks.
* Supporting, mentoring, and daily management of a team of up to 15 staff.
* Driving continuous improvement throughout the department, identifying programme improvements to reduce cycle times, tool, and tip life.
To be successful in the role of Senior CNC Programmer, the ideal candidate will have:
* Previous leadership experience within a CNC machine shop, managing production and a team of machinists.
* A strong bias towards multi-axis milling, with the ability to write programmes in any one of FANUC, Siemens, or Mazatrol.
* Effective staff management skills, to ensure the team is motivated and performing well.
* Demonstrable experience with Health & Safety compliance and best practices.
