The Role Were on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Technician to join our Rocksavage Power Station As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operational safety, generation, and environmental performance of Rocksavage Power Station. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining, repairing, and improving the mechanical equipment to ensure that our power station and all our systems are operating at peak efficiency. Role Summary Perform all types of maintenance on our Mechanical systems and field equipment in accordance with OEM requirements and industry practice. Fully utilise software interfaces for maintenance management, safety systems, investigation and performance tools, document control and procedure revision systems. Help implement company health, safety and environmental management policies and participate in company HSE initiatives. Analysis of drawings, technical reports, technical manuals and vendor information to collate and produce maintenance and routine work instructions, method statements and risk assessments. Inspecting rotating equipment using precision measuring devices, properly rigging and lifting heavy components using overhead and mobile cranes. Operating forklift trucks and other site vehicles. Assisting in writing and developing tender specifications for maintenance contracts and ensuring value for money when managing designated contracts and projects. Participating in projects and initiatives as delegated by the Production Lead and /or Production Manager and help ensuring value for money when managing designated contracts and projects. Assisting with day-day planning, outage planning, co-ordination and management of contract support organisations. Carrying out prestart checks, to ensure that plant is in the correct state for return to service following maintenance Participate in on call and fully responsive to all business-related contact calls. Ensuring out of hours support is available as and when required, particularly in dynamic conditions such as unit start-up or trip. Why you? As our new Mechanical Technician, it is essential that you have suitable knowledge and experience of CCGT power plant operations and the maintenance associated with gas/steam turbines, permits for work systems and the ability to read technical drawings. You will have suitable experience with IT applications and computer aided Maintenance Management Systems. We have SafetyAtHeart here at InterGen, so having a good understanding of all HSE aspects will be fundamental in this role and a practical working knowledge of Power Plant Performance would be an advantage. Education/Experience Educated to HNC or above in a Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred (Wed still love to hear from you if you have alternative qualifications or suitable practical experience) NEBOSH or IOSH qualification would be advantageous but is not essential. A minimum of five years Power Plant O&M experience would be desirable but experience within heavy industry and/or technical production environments would be considered.
