Please note full-time hours are 37.5 hours per week, worked over five days. While a visible leadership presence is essential, there may be an opportunity to work from home one day a week, which can be discussed during the interview process.

Main Duties of the Job
1. Providing managerial and strategic leadership for the pharmacy outpatient service.
2. Ensuring that contractual KPIs are met.
3. Ensuring compliance with GPhC Standards for Registered Pharmacies in conjunction with the Superintendent Pharmacist.
4. Ensuring safe and effective working practices with SOPs that are in date and fit for purpose.
5. Developing services to maximize company profitability; working closely with the Finance Manager.
About Us
Lancashire Hospitals Services (Pharmacy) Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We provide the NHS Trust with the outpatient dispensing service at Royal Preston Hospital, Rosemere Centre (within Royal Preston Hospital), and Chorley and South Ribble District General Hospital.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and act as a role model for the staff of LHS Ltd.
2. Manage stock appropriately and accurately.
3. Ensure SOPs are in place to cover all activities.
4. Implement robust recruitment processes, including induction programmes and probationary reviews.
5. Ensure training packages are in place for all core activities.
6. Manage pharmacy stock safely and securely.
7. Develop and operate the pharmacy as a profitable business.
8. Work closely with the Finance Manager for full financial oversight.
9. Manage pharmacy rosters in line with budgeted costs.
10. Ensure effective leadership and management of the dispensary teams.
11. Conduct regular team meetings and circulate minutes.
12. Ensure compliance with LTHTr mandatory training requirements.
13. Maintain quarterly 121s and annual appraisals for all team members.
14. Manage workload and resources across all branches.
15. Lead on service development.
16. Investigate incidents and develop action plans.
17. Ensure relevant risk assessments are in place and reviewed regularly.
18. Maintain the LHS Single Improvement Plan.
19. Prepare corporate and annual business plans with the Finance Manager.
20. Provide strategic advice and guidance to the board.
21. Establish effective links with stakeholders.
22. Coordinate the work and resources of the dispensary teams.
23. Represent the company in negotiations with customers and suppliers.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Education
* Registration with GPhC and evidence of CPD.
* Post-graduate Leadership and Management Qualification.
* RPS/APTUK Member.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of all areas of Pharmacy Services.
* Detailed knowledge of Pharmacy Dispensing Services.
* Experience in a management/leadership role.
* Specialist knowledge of Good Dispensing Practice.
* Experience of workforce development.
* Knowledge of medicines regulation, legislation, and clinical governance.
* Ability to develop and deliver training to others.
* Awareness of changes within pharmacy practice.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
* Knowledge of information security and confidentiality laws.
* Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and Risk Management processes.
* Project Management experience.
* EMIS Experience.
