We have had an exciting opportunity for an experienced industrial cleaning supervisor to join our hygiene team. Smithfield Murray is a food manufacturing organisation with a site based in Trafford Park. We have over 25 years experience in the food business and specialise in the production of various poultry products for UK retail as well as food service manufacturing in our state of the art factory. As a Hygiene Supervisor you will be supporting the Hygiene Manager, you will be required to lead, motivate, and develop a hygiene team, providing high standards of cleanliness throughout our food factory premises and raising any areas of non-compliance and continuously improving procedures and equipment. This role is a hands on supervisor role and a pro-active approach is essential, as is excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensuring high hygiene standards and good housekeeping are maintained throughout the factory, providing a safe and clean environment for food production. Performing deep cleaning of production areas and ensure all scheduled cleans are completed and communicated. Coordinating and managing a team of hygiene operatives, ensuring tasks are allocated effectively and team members have tools necessary to perform the tasks. Ensuring all team members are fully trained, monitored and supported in their roles. Working pro-actively to find root cause of non-conformances and work with Hygiene manager to put in place preventative measures. Resolving issues that are raised during the shift, highlighting key issues to Hygiene manager and Technical Manager and overseeing any project work that may be assigned. Working in collaboration with other functions/departments across the business. Assisting with the cleaning activities in any department and supporting the team on any issues that may arise. Ensuring all hygiene records are maintained and up-to-date and all paperwork is correctly completed. Maintaining CIC (Cleaning Instruction Cards) and ensuring that they are up-to-date. Control of site PPE and issuance. Supporting Hygiene Manager. First aider (training will be supplied) THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE: Great people skills. Organizational skills. Ability to supervise and motivate staff. Good communication skills-both verbal and written. Continuous Improvement mind-set. Good understanding of Health and Safety. Attention to detail and appropriate level of detail for the task. Fair level of IT literacy. Ability to handover and escalate problems. Chemical and CIC training.
