Job Title: Fire Engineering Director
Location: London based (must relocate or commute)
Salary Range: £100k - £130k+ (negotiable based on experience)

Role Overview: As the Fire Engineering Director, you'll lead our client's fire safety initiatives, ensuring a proactive and risk-based approach across projects. You'll be providing crucial support and innovative solutions to meet fire safety objectives. Your role is both strategic and hands-on, involving compliance checks and record-keeping for professional development. Key Responsibilities:
* Team Leadership: Lead the Fire Safety Team, promoting a holistic and risk-based design approach.
* Project Support: Offer creative and technical support to develop fire safety solutions for projects.
* Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships across the organization.
* Fire Safety Strategy: Identify and address fire-related constraints and opportunities throughout project lifecycles using evidence-based methods.
* Awareness Promotion: Cultivate awareness of the impact of fire safety design on construction, installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
* Team Growth: Contribute to the growth and visibility of the Fire Safety Team.
* Compliance Monitoring: Stay updated on fire safety legislation and technologies, providing insights to the team.
* Technical Reviews: Provide fire safety advice during Technical and Construction Reviews.
* Attend meetings as required as well as fire & safety related events ; international travel may be required
* Provide office-wide guidance and support on fire engineering methods and collaborate with external fire engineers when needed.

Qualifications & Skills Required:
* Experience: Extensive experience in fire engineering, fire research, or a related field.
* Certification: Chartered status with a relevant institution or close to obtaining it.
* Education: Degree in a relevant discipline.
* Technical Skills: Expertise in qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, probabilistic risk analysis, and detailed deterministic analysis. Evidence of a good design understanding.
* Work History: Proven leadership and management experience.
* Software Proficiency: Familiarity with tools like MicroStation, InDesign, FDS, CFAST, B-RISK, OZone, MACS+, and structural software packages.
* Location: Ability to work in the UK and willing to relocate or commute to London.
* Experience with various international regulatory and guidance frameworks.
* Strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to interact with a diverse range of people, and the ability to work well in a team
Preferred Attributes:
* Advanced Methods: Experience with CFD-based modeling, FEA analysis, and quantitative probabilistic and reliability analysis.
* Programming Skills: Experience with Matlab, Python, R, or similar for data analysis, automation and/or model development.
* Networking: Established connections within the fire science and engineering communities.
