Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Turner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in setting and operating 2-axis CNC lathes, working with Fanuc controls, reading engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards, and meeting production deadlines. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
* Program Set and operate 2-axis CNC lathes
* Work with Fanuc controls
* Read and interpret engineering drawings to BS/ISO standards
* Complete first-offs, prove-outs, and inspections
* Meet production deadlines
* Conduct quality inspection of parts using micrometers, verniers, and gauges
* De-burr parts using various hand tools
* Work independently and as part of a team
* Perform any other duties as required and deemed appropriate
Qualifications
* Skilled in setting and operating CNC lathes and tooling
* Experience in program editing and G Code knowledge
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
* Proficiency in computer operations with a good understanding of CNC programs
* Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills
* Attention to detail with excellent communication abilities
* Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
* Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
* Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines with high quality standards
* Willingness to work occasional overtime, sometimes at short notice
* Motivated and an excellent team player
* Experience in offline programming, especially Featurecam/Fusion 360 would be advantageous
Day-to-day
* Setting and operating CNC lathes
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
* Programming and editing CNC programs
* Conducting quality inspections of parts
* De-burring parts using hand tools
* Working independently and as part of a team
* Meeting production deadlines
* Occasional overtime may be required
* Utilizing precision measurement equipment
Package
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.00pm and Friday 7.30am - 3.00pm.
Employment Type: Permanent Full Time.
Weekly Hours: 39 Hours + Occasional Overtime when needed
Rate: £15.00 - £19.00 Hour
